Avni C. Rampersaud, DDS
Biography
Dr. "R" grew up in Alexandria, Virginia where she attended the Saint Stephen's Saint Agnes preparatory school. Her parents continue to reside in Northern Virginia, where her father is a practicing pediatrician.
Dr. R graduated from Duke University, after which she attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Fellowship training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC.
After her training Dr. R returned to the Triangle where her husband is a physician in the Division of Urology at Duke University Medical Center. She became Associate to Gene Howden, DDS who had spent the previous 25 years caring for the pediatric dental needs in and around Chapel Hill. The transition of practice ownership to Dr R marked the institution of Chapel Hill Pediatric Dentistry - a new name, but with the same zeal and caring for children that Dr. Howden so excellently demonstrated.
